Warning Before You Become an Influencer

While it has many perks, it can also have it's setbacks. Here I am in the tabloids talking about an anti-aging serum I invented I sell on my social media. That would be fine except they didn't promote my serum they just shared one ingredient I use in it!

This along with a ton of hate comments come with the territory. Before I grew my own influence online I used to spend hours deleted hate comments on the platforms of famous people I worked for. I at least knew it was "normal" but it is not easy to take. 

When I first started out on YouTube years ago I wanted to be a "YouTuber". It is what eventually led me to become a marketer I had to figure out how to grow! But I sucked at it. (Don't believe me look at my old videos). 

It wasn't until years of trying that I got better and better at my content and started to go viral a lot more online. 

I first started to go viral on TikTok, then I grew a large instagram, then another YouTube Channel blew up. I later deleted the Instagram and YouTube and kept the TikTok and I still have my first ever YouTube Channel. 

The truth is that sometimes when you grow a platform online it becomes a "thing" that everyone now expects from you. If that "thing" is not longer interesting people unfollow or you just get tired of it. 

I finally figured out how to go viral on demand. One day I created a video to purposely go viral and put it on a dead instagram account and it got 5.5 million views. Does it make sense to go viral every time? I suppose it depends how popular you want to be. I like to stay a little under the radar myself. 

Remember: It is very important to make sure you choose your content wisely, plan out the end from the beginning. It is also important to understand what you are signing yourself up for. I am going to teach you how to grow your social media influence. But remember that with it comes a lot of responsibility and often backlash.
