COURSE SALES CONVERSION CASE STUDY

How Relax Me Online Australia Turned an Underperforming Course Launch Into a Sold-Out Program

← All case studies

An established audience does not automatically understand why it should buy a new offer.

When Relax Me Online Australia launched an online course associated with Jason Stephenson, an audience of approximately three million followers had produced only 40 course sales.

A Call To Thrive audited the course and funnel, reviewed the customer avatars, and surveyed the community to understand what was preventing people from buying.

The research revealed a gap between what the team believed the offer communicated and what prospective customers actually understood.

After the website copy was revised to clarify the transformation and pricing was made visible earlier, the program subsequently sold out.

THE CHALLENGE

A Large Audience Was Not Translating Into Course Sales

Jason had already built a substantial audience around his content.

However, the course launch was not producing the sales the business expected. Despite the size of the audience, only 40 purchases had been made.

That raised an important question: what did prospective buyers need to understand before the paid program made sense to them?

Audience size alone could not answer that question. We needed to examine the offer, the buying journey, and the community's actual perception of the course.

WHAT THE AUDIT AND COMMUNITY RESEARCH REVEALED

The Difference Between the Existing Content and the Paid Course Was Unclear

The audit covered the course, its funnel, and the customer avatars. Community surveys provided direct insight into the questions and objections behind the buying decision.

The most important finding was that people did not clearly understand how the course differed from the content Jason was already producing.

They could see that the program contained material and activities, but the transformation was not clear enough.

The website had substantial copy. The problem was what that copy helped the buyer understand.

Prospective customers needed a clearer explanation of what would change for them as a result of participating and why that outcome justified the investment.

Pricing Was Appearing Too Late

Visitors could click a Buy the Course button before seeing the price.

Some community feedback described surprise when the price appeared after the click. People were reaching the purchase decision without enough clarity about the value or the financial commitment.

That created two connected issues: the outcome needed to be better understood, and the price needed to be visible before the buying action.

WHAT CHANGED

01. The Website Copy Explained the Transformation

We revised the website messaging to clarify the change the program was designed to help participants achieve.

The copy moved beyond describing what was included and helped prospective buyers understand what those components meant for them.

The work also clarified how the paid program differed from the existing content, giving people a stronger basis for evaluating the offer.

02. The Value Was Connected to the Investment

The revised explanation helped buyers consider the price in the context of the program's intended outcome.

This did not mean promising every participant an identical result. It meant making the purpose, value, and expected transformation easier to understand before asking someone to purchase.

03. Pricing Became Visible on the Course Homepage

We moved the price onto the course homepage so visitors could see it before clicking Buy the Course.

The change gave people the information earlier in the buying journey rather than surprising them after they had clicked.

It was a pricing-transparency improvement, not a change to the payment platform or a confirmed reduction in price.

THE RESULT

The Program Subsequently Sold Out

Following the changes to the website copy and pricing visibility, the program sold out.

The initial launch had produced 40 sales. The final enrollment count, revenue, and time to sell out are not available for this case study, so no numerical uplift or conversion rate is claimed.

The outcome illustrates the importance of understanding what buyers perceive, explaining the value of a paid offer, and giving people the information they need before making a purchase decision.

THE BIGGER LESSON

An Audience Still Needs a Clear Reason to Buy

A large following is an asset, but attention and purchase readiness are different things.

Someone can enjoy a creator's content and still be unsure why the paid program is relevant, what makes it different, or whether the investment is worthwhile.

In this engagement, the audit and community research helped identify those unanswered questions.

The implementation addressed the way the offer was communicated and the point at which pricing became visible.

Before recommending more activity, A Call To Thrive looked at the relationship between the audience, the offer, and the buying decision.

That is the broader growth principle: identify where the business is losing momentum, then build the changes that address the actual constraint.

IS YOUR AUDIENCE STRUGGLING TO SEE THE VALUE OF YOUR OFFER?

If your business has an audience, traffic, or inquiries but too few buyers, the next step deserves investigation.

The issue may involve positioning, the offer, pricing, evidence, the customer journey, or the way those pieces work together.
